RRB Recruitment Procedure
Railways conduct their own exam for recruitment which is NTPC, which allows the candidates to secure a job in one of the leading sectors. The salary provided by The Indian Railways is quite decent as compared to other employing sectors. Railways provide the benefits of Grade Pay and Dearness Allowance which is presently around 119% and also better medical care. Salaries are expected to rise considerably with the 7th Pay Commission. Indian Railways also offers residential quarters with basic facilities along with subsidized meals. Railways provide safer jobs and don’t fire its employees like private companies. The candidate’s age should be between 18 years to 32 years. The pay scale for junior engineers is Rs. 9300 to 34800 and the selection is based on written exam and personal interviews.

Railways classifies its staff as Gazetted which are Group A and B, and Non-Gazetted which are Group C and D. Recruitment process of Group A is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and Group 'B' candidates are recruited by Railway Recruitment Board which includes posts such as Junior Engineers, Section Officers, etc. Group C and Group D candidates are recruited by Railway Boards through nontechnical examination.

Railways are definitely a better career option for young candidates and those who are fresher and wish to have a secure career. However, candidates should keep in mind that the competition for these posts is quite high.
